Stewart Family Counseling

Meet David

First, thank you for visiting Stewart Family Counseling. Seeking help for personal life challenges can be an intimidating process, especially if it’s your first time. Been there! So let me give you some background information about myself to help ease some of angst in deciding if and when to move forward.

Here’s a few of the disorders and struggles I treat:

Years of Experiece

Veteran

I am a U.S. Army veteran. I was an airborne communications specialist, meaning I jumped out of airplanes with field communications equipment to help frontline troop communicate with headquarters. I chose to go “airborne” to break my fear of heights, yet I still get lightheaded peering from a third story balcony! But it was this experience as a paratrooper that I learned I could do anything I set my mind to. I also learned the power of external motivators and accountability in stretching individuals to levels that would not be experienced by solo efforts alone.

Business Owner

After military duty I went back to school to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and pursued a career in the insurance business. I started FCE Insurance Services, an insurance agency that specialized in employee benefits. I operated the agency for 11 years.

Psychotherapist

Life Coach

Believing my journey was not complete in the insurance business, I again went back to school to obtain a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I then obtained licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and certification as a Life Coach. I opened Stewart Performance Coaching in 2008 and Stewart Family Counseling in 2012. My specialty includes couples who struggle in the area of communication and mutual understanding. My life coaching practice focuses on assisting my clients in clarifying purpose and life goals, then developing and  implementing a strategic plan to experience those goals.
